Competitive Team Policies

Welcome to the Diana's Rhythmic Club Team! We strive to ensure that our competitive team gymnasts (Development Program, Xcel) feel supported and successful during their time at Diana's Rhythmic Club. The following policies will help us accomplish this goal together.

Team Policies

Goals

  1. Safety

  2. Progressive training advancing towards high levels of gymnastics

  3. Good, clean gymnastics through progressions

  4. Achieving our competition goals

  5. Enjoyment of the sport of rhythmic gymnastics

Team Commitments

Gymnasts and parents are expected to be respectful to all club staff, teammates, and guests. This includes attending practices on time, being prepared for practice (i.e., hair pulled back, wearing proper attire, and having apparatus ready), not talking while coaches are teaching, and showing full effort throughout practices. Gymnasts or parents who are consistently showing disrespectful behavior towards other club members will receive two warnings. If such behavior continues after warnings, gymnasts will be suspended from the gym for a week. If two suspensions occur within a competitive year, gymnasts will be removed from the team.

Diana's Rhythmic Club Team Unity Policy

We expect our gymnasts to be exceptional teammates. This means only communicating with each other in ways that are respectful and supportive. We adhere to this principle both inside the gym and outside. If your gymnast has experienced bullying within her group, either at practice or outside of practice, please reach out to coaches immediately.

Attendance Policy

Consistent attendance is the most critical indicator of success in any competitive program. No other class can duplicate the team training program.  Therefore, we strive for all our gymnasts to have good attendance. We ask that all our gymnasts arrive on time and be prepared for class. Development Program Team: For the safety of the athletes, any athlete that cannot make a minimum of 60% of post-season (summer) practice days will NOT be allowed to advance to the next level, and will repeat their current level.

Grooming Expectations

All gymnasts must wear tight-fitting athletic tops and bottoms (shorts or leggings, no bell-bottom/yoga pants). Loose-fitting clothing is not allowed. This is a safety hazard for the gymnasts and coaches when spotting them, and also hinders coaches from correctly seeing the form of the gymnasts. No jewelry is allowed, with the exception of post-stud earrings. All gymnasts must come to class with their hair tied back, preferably in a high bun.

Electronic Device Policy

Electronic devices (including but not limited to cell phones, smart watches, tablets, and computers) will be turned in to the coaches table for the duration of each practice. This is to ensure that gymnasts have their full attention on training, free from distractions. If you need to contact your child during practice, reach out to the coaches.

Sideline Coaching & Video

Team training is drop off and pick up only. If you are interested in watching practice, you may watch the beginning or end of training. Absolutely no sideline coaching is allowed during practice, as it is distracting to all athletes and coaches. If coaches notice sideline coaching, parents will be warned. If this behavior persists after the first warning, gymnasts will be removed from the team.

Parents are not allowed to videotape classes unless expressly asked to do so by a coach. Not all parents allow for their child to be photographed and videotaped, and we would like to respect the wishes of other parents for their children’s safety and privacy.

Attendance

Gymnasts on the Development Program Team and Xcel Team are expected to attend classes regularly.

Development Program: Gymnasts in the Development program are expected to attend classes regularly. Girls are required to attend ALL practices listed on the class schedule for their respective level. Regular attendance is the most important factor for consistent progress and the maintenance of strength and flexibility. Because this program works to prepare gymnasts for elite levels of competition, commitment to practices and competitions is crucial for success.

Gymnasts on the Development Program Team who miss more than 25% of practices or more than 50% of competitions will be asked to transition to the Xcel level that is equivalent to their Development Program. Lack of participation in practices and competitions will hold your athlete back. If your family is unsure if you can commit to practices and competitions for the Development Program, your child is welcome to participate in competitions through our Xcel program, which is lower cost and allows for more flexibility in terms of time commitment (please note that the Xcel program does not prepare athletes for elite competition in the same way that the Development Program does; however, promising athletes are able to transition from Xcel to the Development Program between seasons).

Xcel Team: For Xcel gymnasts, it is highly recommended that girls attend classes 2-3 times each week for consistent progress and the maintenance of strength and flexibility, especially at the Gold, Diamond, Platinum, and Sapphire levels. Xcel gymnasts must attend practice a minimum of once per week. Girls showing commitment, focus, and a potential for success in more competitive levels of rhythmic gymnastics may be invited to the development program at the end of the competitive year.

Please notify coaches of any expected absences through the Jackrabbit Parent Portal.

Make-Up Policy

Development Program Team: Makeups will not be provided on team classes, as all practices have mandatory attendance.

Xcel Team: If your child has missed a practice, they are allowed a makeup at no additional cost. Your gymnast must be actively enrolled in classes in order to schedule and attend makeup classes. Please inform coaches if you plan to make up a class so that we can ensure that classes have an additional coach if necessary. Bronze and Silver athletes can make up classes within their level or in Beginner Level 2. Gold and Diamond athletes can make up classes within their level or in Bronze/Silver classes.

Tuition Policy

A registration/ membership fee of $100/ athlete must be paid prior to the beginning of each competitive season. This is separate from the USAG required membership fee, that will be paid by the parent directly to USAG. All team members are required to have a credit card saved on file with Diana’s Rhythmic Club. The tuition cost will be automatically charged to your credit card on file with us on the last day of every month, for the following month. We do not accept checks or cash for the tuition payments. If the card on file cannot be charged (is declined or has not yet been saved), you have 5 days to change/ save a (new) card number on file and complete the payment. If the full tuition payment is not received by the 5th day of the month, a late payment fee of $35 will be automatically charged. If the payment is late 30 days, your child’s team membership will be terminated, and if/ when rejoining the team, a new registration fee will be assessed. If a team member withdraws from team, you will be responsible for that month's fee. Withdraws are only effective at the end of any month (there will be no partial payments or reimbursements of tuition). There will be no exceptions allowed.

A credit card must be saved on file at all times to ensure that tuition payments are made in a timely manner. Late payments will be charged to the credit card on file, and will be subject to a late fee. Late pickups (beyond 10 minutes) with no prior contacting of coaches will incur a late fee charged to the credit card on file.

We value the priority of family events or vacations and religious commitments, but aside from this, attending practice regularly and being on time (in practice attire and ready to begin before practice starts) is an important expectation that the coaches have of all Diana’s Rhythmic Club team athletes.

Vacation Policy

Our expectation is that the parents inform us in writing at info@dianasrhythmicclub.com at least two weeks ahead of time if you will be on vacation. Two consecutive weeks vacation will be prorated upon timely request during summer travel time.
